I got nominated by Tosin (Happy birthday again sis), for the 3 day Quote Challenge a while ago (I didn’t forget sis, I just got lazy). I’ve read posts from this challenge and the quotes and notes I’ve come across have been lovely to read.
I like quotes. They can be anything. A stand alone statement, a piece of a bigger statement, a line from a song or a book……… Something that just hits you with a ton of insight, understanding, hope, strength or whatever it is you need in that moment you hear or read them.
Here are the rules of the Challenge
1. Thank the person who nominated you.
Thank you sis! You may not know, but you’ve been an inspiration. Really.
2. Post a quote each day for 3 consecutive days and say why it appeals to you
*Nd, can I get you to help make sure I follow through?
3. Nominate 3 different bloggers each day.
I am never good at this nominating part. But I will make an effort this time around. Instead of nominating 3 daily, I will nominate 3 people at the end of the challenge (day 3). Fair right? Yeah, I think so too.
You know how there are so many things we come across, almost daily and they resonate with us and we wish we can share, and when an opportunity comes to share we suddenly seem to run blank? Hehehehehe That was my initial response when I got this nomination. I suddenly forgot some beautiful quotes I had thought of sharing at one point or the other.
So I just decided to thumb through my journal, cos I write quotes down sometimes, and will be sharing from my finds.
I pray each quote leaves you with something positive : hope, a blessing, an action, a smile.
Climb mountains not so the world can see you but so you can see the world.
This quote resonated with me because I’m a recovering people pleaser.
So a number of things I did or said used to be more for others and not myself.
I would climb mountains not because I wanted to, but so the world would see me climbing, or because someone else who wanted the world to see them asked me to accompany them.
I didn’t do things for me, to enjoy them…. I did them cos I wanted to be seen doing them and tick the done boxes.
When you climb to see the world, it comes with purpose, fulfilment, pleasure. Your horizon broadens, your imagination comes alive and the goals you want to achieve become clearer. That way, the journey to the top of the mountain wouldn’t seem a dull and boring task, but a purposeful fun one cos your heart is really in it.
Doing things for the right reasons is so important.
Do things for you!
I will like to hear from you, what are your thoughts on this quote.
